Since its first edition (2007), the festival gathers audiovisual records and photographic images, including keeping its websites available for access. The production of catalogs (2007, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012) contributes to the formation of the collection and access to information about the editions made. Among the videos and photographs available on the website, as well as on channels such as Youtube, Vimeo, Flickr e Instagram. As audiovisual content, 6 DVDs and more than 20 hours of recording related to the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 editions were also produced.

Currently the festival is implementing, through an open source platform, the visualization of its digital collection, composed from a database with more than 2,000 works and technological art works, between Brazilians and foreigners, the result of the last 12 years of performance . The project was developed based on research in the field of digital arts, memory, preservation and conservation, through the State University of Minas Gerais and the Belo Horizonte Municipal Culture Foundation.

FAD INDEX

FAD ART BASE

FAD Index is an index database of the festival’s database (under implementation 2020-2022). Through it, it will be possible to retrieve information on all the content gathered from the FAD in recent years. Through an intelligent search system and specific vocabulary developed for our collection, it will be possible to search for works, artists and themes.

ACESS (soon)

FAD Art Base is a tool for collecting information about works of art in intersection with science, technology and new media. Through a system of collecting texts, images, videos, audios and hyperlinks artists, creators, scientists, academics, creatives and entrepreneurs can submit their projects. The tool is also a way to be in contact with the Festival’s curators and artistic directors, who come to know and follow their work more closely. Above all, contributing to this platform, the works become part of the FAD Index, contributing to the registration and memory of digital art in Brazil with public and free access.
